Taxation Webinar for KC Lau

I had the privilege of being asked by KC Lau to be a speaker for one of his webinars. I was asked to share about the “Tax Issues Affecting Property Investors in 2013″.

Honestly, this was my first webinar and naturally, I felt quite nervous about how the session was going to turn out.  To top things off, I had a slight case of the coughs and sore throat so that didn’t help to alleviate my nervousness. I started off the webinar by sharing how a taxpayer is able to save up to RM2,550 in taxes per annum, if the taxpayer can take advantage of all the 2013 amendments to the personal reliefs (plus the 2012 personal relief for the private retirement scheme (PRS) and deferred annuity which I know that a lot of people haven’t taken advantage of yet). I also highlighted the tax issues which I felt will affect the property investors in the year 2013, one of which was the assessment of disposal of properties by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) to income tax. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were close to 50 listeners as my webinar progressed. There was particularly a lot of interest in the topic of the limited liability partnership, which was apparent from the number of questions asked during the Q&A session.

An excerpt from the webinar is available below.

KC Lau regularly hosts online seminars (commonly known as “webinars”) on his website. These different webinars feature speakers from different background and expertise including investment in properties, stocks, insurance, business etc. Registering for the webinars and attending the event live through the Internet is absolutely FREE. If you are interested to do so, head on over to his site to find out more and register for the upcoming webinars.

I’ll be sharing the same topic in greater detail at the upcoming Property Outlook 2013 seminar, in which I am a speaker. Do check out my earlier post for more information about the seminar.
